You can also use our service to save on travel costs by choosing a more convenient form of transport, or to take one of the coaches leaving from Mestre railway station like the Costa Crociere coach leaving for the Trieste/Savona ports.
The history of Mestre railway station begins in July 1908 when it was inaugurated for trains run by the Sugana Valley Rail Company after the opening of the Mestre-Bassano branch line. In May 1963, a brand-new modern station was built to replace the original building, which was no longer able to cope with the increased passenger flows of the Sixties. Mestre station is now a nodal point in the north-east rail system. Every day 85,000 passengers travelling on 500 trains pass through this major goods and passenger station, which is strategically located at a point where several key lines meet: the Milan-Venice, Venice-Trieste, Venice-Udine, Venice-Trent, Adria-Mestre as well as the four-line railway section to Venice Santa Lucia.
